Municipal Corporation Panchkula was constituted on 17th March 2010. The area under
Municipal Corporation Limit includes the area under previous Municipal Council Panchkula
and Kalka & Pinjore Municipal Committees along with 54 other villages of Panchkula
district. The Municpal Corporation, Panchkula spans over an area of approx. 120
sq. Km. and is serving a population of about 3,72,000. The Municipal Corporation,
Panchkula is divided into three zones of Panchkula, Pinjore and Kalka. The Municipal
Corporation office of Panchkula is situated at Sector-14, Near Rally Chowk, Panchkula.
The Corporation's zonal offices are situated in the old municipal committee offices
of Pinjore & Kalka. As per delimitation of wards notification issued by Urban Local
Bodies Department, Haryana the Municipal Corporation Panchkula has been divided
into 20 wards.
Panchkula, Pinjore and Kalka towns are situated on the foot hills of Shivalik Mountain
Ranges and are surrounded by Union Territory of Chandigarh and States of Himachal
Pradesh & Punjab. Panchkula town is one of the most beautiful & planned city in
the whole of North India and is widely known for its beautiful parks, world famous
Cactus Garden and Mata Mansa Devi Temple. Almost all the Head Offices of Haryana
State Government Departments are situated in this town along with various Central
Government Regional offices. Panchkula town is a well planned and modern city with
high end hotels, mega malls & niche showrooms. Kalka town is especially famous for
its ancient Kali Mata Mandir situated on the Kalka-Shimla National Highway. The
famous Yadvendra Garden is situated in Pinjore town where thousands of tourists
visit to enjoy and see the scenic beauty of garden. The famous Bheema Devi Temple
is also situated in Pinjore town.
Municipal Corporation Panchkula continues to accomplish its responsibility of delivering
the civic services efficiently with an aim to create a better living environment
for citizens of Panchkula.
